As we drove up to halls on the river it's a nice looking place, inviting. As we entered, we waited about 1 minute we were seated by a very nice lady who end it up being our waitress? We had an appetizer potato skins, which is the very first restaurant that did them right wasn't too much potato. That's a filling, very tasteful, then our entree, my wife's catfish, was too salty. My dinner was good, flavorful. However, I also had a salad and it was very good. Except the blue cheese dressing was not flavorful. As a restaurant, critic and had managed restaurants. This is exactly how it went down. However, I would recommend it, we will go back because it was a nice place. And of course, on the river helps.
This KY gem is located off the beaten path, right on the Kentucky River. If you are visiting the iconic Fort Boonesborough or the State Park, make sure you come here for a good Southern meal.
Absolutely loved this little place! It's off the beaten path and has such a cool view of the nearby river! Hence the name lol. The food and service was awesome, we went twice during our trip to The Red, and would definitely go back! Thank you for a pleasant experience and great food!
Hot Brown and Cheesecake were both amazing. Service was adequate but they had their hands full. It was a very busy evening.
Delicious. Cool setting. I’ve wanted to stop there for years but never had. Glad I finally did. Had the beer cheese soup, the pulled pork platter with greens, and fish and chips with sweet potato fries. All were excellent. Friendly service. Surprisingly affordable.
We have been here several times and it is always great. My wife really enjoys their deluxe Bloody Mary. I had the Hot Brown and it was fantastic.
We got to the restaurant at 11:30 am. Got seated quickly and the waitress came to get our drink order right away. Atmosphere is so peaceful. The restaurant sits on the bank of the river. The have an outside seat, which we choose to sit. My husband and I order the sea food platter and split it. It was more than enough for food for both of us. The food was excellent. Waitress was excellent! Thank you guys!!!!
